Top tips for taking perfect skydive photos

So, you’ve decided to cruise up to 16,500ft and skydive at the warmest and sunniest dropzone in New Zealand… good on ya!  You’ll want to remember this once in a lifetime experience so why not grab one of our camera packages and clue up on these top tips for some epic skydive photos.

Guest starring: Skydive Bay of Islands

While you’re heading up into the big blue we want you to just sit back, relax and soak up scenery of all 144 islands that make up the Bay of Islands.

We don’t want you worrying about whether or not you’re going to have a good photo for your Facebook profile, or worrying about your cheeks inflating and your video capturing your overactive saliva glands in all their glory!

We want you to have a camera package that makes you the envy of all your friends! With that in mind we’ve put together these top tips from our legendary tandem instructors:

How to get the best out of your camera package

SMILES FOR MILES!

Smiling is key when you’re travelling at over 200km an hour. A big smile on your dial will tighten your face and will stop your cheeks from inflating. No one wants a video of his or her face flapping about.

SNOT FUNNY

That’s right, your ma was right: blowing your nose is important. You don’t want your awesome profile pic ruined by a booger!

WORD TO YO’ MAMA:

You’ve written an apology to your ma on your hands and you want your camera man to get a great shot of it right? You need to think about how you’re going to hold your hands in freefall so that the message can be read. You’ll find it easiest to make two fists in freefall so write on the back of your hands.

EYES WIDE SHUT:

Now this seems obvious but… open your eyes. That’s right, you’d be surprised how many people keep their eyes tight shut throughout their entire freefall.
